After such a long wait, we are so proud and excited to finally launch International Choral Festival Cardiff 2022!
Applications are now open for the festival which will take place in Cardiff between the 1st and 3rd of July 2022 with an exciting mix of competitions, concerts, informal performances, workshops, and social gatherings. Applications close on 28 February 2022. Apply here.
The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed a slight name change for the festival in 2022. As the home of the festival since the very beginning in 2018 and with all that the Welsh capital has to offer, we are proud to incorporate Cardiff into the name of our festival.
After such a long hiatus, this is the perfect opportunity for choirs to dust off the conducting baton, iron the performance clothes, and get back to singing and making musical memories together once more.
Choirs will be able to compete across a number of categories and the five highest-scoring choirs will compete head-to-head to become the Choir of Choirs in our grand finale. The categories at International Choral Festival 2022 will be:
• Category 1: Mixed Choirs
• Category 2: Single Voice Choirs
• Category 3: Open Category
• Category 4: Young Voices (under 25 years old)
Since its inception in 2017 by Artistic Director, Eilir Owen Griffiths and his team, the festival has welcomed choirs from across Wales and England and from countries around the world including Ireland, India, South Africa, and Ukraine.
